HISTORY

Inspired by a single gift from a concerned resident, the Friendship Fund was established in 1971 through a joint effort between the residents and the Board of Trustees to help residents facing financial hardship continue to live fulfilling lives here at the Village. The Fund represents genuine care for neighbors and friends. Donations are tax deductible and there are several ways to contribute to the Fund:

DIRECT DONATIONS:

Direct Donations of cash or check are the most popular type of gift because it is simple to give, immediately effective, and easily earmarked. If you itemize your deductions, you may deduct up to 50% of your adjusted gross income. Any excess deductions can be carried forward into as many as five additional tax years.

CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY:

The Heath Village Friendship Fund Charitable Gift Annuity offers residents and friends an opportunity to continue the Heath Village mission, by giving through bequests and individual gifts. A bequest simply lists a charity as a beneficiary in your will, while an individual Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple contract between you and the charity. A bequest or Charitable Gift Annuity to Heath Village helps continue our mission by funding the Friendship Fund Charitable Gift Annuity Fund.

Thank you for your consideration of the Friendship Fund. Direct Donations (cash or check) may be mailed to the attention of Debbie O'Brien at Heath Village Retirement Community at 430 Schooley's Mountain Road, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.  Please make checks payable to the Heath Village Friendship Fund.
